Stobicast L 807.01 is a high-performance, hard-flexible 2-component polyurethane casting compound designed for demanding electrical insulation applications. This advanced material boasts excellent electrical and mechanical properties, coupled with very high thermal conductivity. It is self-extinguishing, holding UL 94 V-0 certification and EN 45545-2:2020 HL 3 Classification, ensuring superior safety standards. Due to its high impact strength and robust resistance to water, transformer oil, gasoline, and other chemicals, Stobicast L 807.01 is perfectly suited for the insulation of low voltage components such as transformers, coils, and capacitors. Furthermore, this casting compound is free from halogen and heavy metal components, complying fully with RoHS and the WEEE directive.
Unveiling the Superior Properties of Stobicast L 807.01
At 20°C, the mixture of Stobicast L 807.01 exhibits a density of 1.82 g/cm³ and a viscosity of 5000 mPa·s. The recommended mixing ratio is 100 parts polyol to 10 parts polyisocyanate by weight, with a potlife ranging from 3 to 120 minutes at 20°C, depending on specific requirements. The cured material is black in color.
Optimal Curing for Stobicast L 807.01
The curing time for Stobicast L 807.01 is influenced by the system’s pot life, material, and mold temperature, typically taking approximately 10-15 hours at 20°C. To achieve optimal physical and electrical properties, it is essential to cure the casting resin at 80-100°C for a minimum of 4 hours.
Processing Recommendations
Prior to use, the polyol component of Stobicast L 807.01 must be thoroughly stirred and homogenized. Processing is ideally performed with a two-component metering and mixing machine, which facilitates working with short pot lives and demoulding cycles. Given the mixing ratio and potential differences in resin/hardener viscosity, the use of a dynamic mixing head is recommended. For enhanced flowability, the resin should be heated to 30-50°C. Parts to be cast should be clean, dry, and grease-free, with preheating to 50°C also recommended.
Storage and Shelf Life
Both components of Stobicast L 807.01 must be protected against humidity and should not be stored below +5°C. The most preferred storage temperature is 15-25°C. Original closed drums can be stored for at least 6 months at ambient temperature. After extended storage, the resin component should be stirred well before use.
Precaution
Always refer to the material safety data sheet for Stobicast L 807.01 very carefully before handling or using the product.
Packaging
Stobicast L 807.01 is available in 200 L drums, with other sizes available upon request.
