The Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Block – 700 Series comes in 15˝ x 15˝ blocks of material with a medium to hard density and robust durability, making it an excellent choice for tough deburring, cleaning, and finishing applications that require increased aggressiveness. These blocks can be cut and customized into various shapes for a range of uses, either for hand finishing or for attachment to a tool. The non-woven unitized construction is designed with a far stronger and denser build than standard buff and blend products, allowing it to withstand repeated wear and high-pressure edgework without tearing while preserving the geometry of the workpiece.
Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Block – 700 Series Features:
- A 15˝ x 15˝ block in a range of thicknesses that can be converted to a custom size or shape for hand sanding or tool mounting.
- Medium to hard density construction with medium or fine grade mineral is a good match for mid-sequence applications.
- Harder material density and increased durability over 600 Series blocks provides a longer-lasting and more aggressive abrasive.
- Open web design is load resistant, contributing to a longer abrasive service life.
- Nylon strands in the open web will not melt or smear when heated, reducing unwanted marks.
- Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, available with aluminum oxide or silicon carbide.
Standard Abrasives™ Unitized Block – 700 Series Applications:
- Aluminum Oxide: Deburring gears, turbine blades, removing punched hole burrs on stainless steel, heavy flashing, and medium-sized pits and scratches. It is also useful for edge radiusing on harder metals.
- Aluminum Oxide: Cleaning heavy scale, light oxidation from aluminum, brazing on steel tubing, and weld discoloration.
- Silicon Carbide: Finishing on titanium, composites, stainless steel, and steel alloys.
