This combination results in improved performance over traditional surface conditioning discs, with the grade XXCRS (60+) lasting 2X longer and processing 3X more parts on mild steel compared to competitive premium nonwoven abrasives. The 3M Precision-Shaped Grain features sharp, angular structures that continuously fracture to maintain sharpness, while the open, three-dimensional web resists loading and exposes fresh abrasive as the disc wears. This ensures a consistent finish and extended abrasive life.
