Momentive Silquest™ Y-15866 is a proprietary vinyl-functional silane that delivers rapid hydrolysis rates similar to vinyltrimethoxysilane but without generating methanol. With substantially lower volatility and a high boiling point, it provides enhanced safety and processing stability in vacuum or moisture-sensitive applications. It is widely used as a moisture scavenger in SPUR+™ hybrid sealants, latex modification, and applications requiring the functional benefits of vinyl silane chemistry.
