3M Scotch-Weld Structural Epoxy Adhesive EC-7246-2 B/A FST is a two-component epoxy adhesive designed for room temperature or mild heat cure to create a strong, impact-resistant structural bond. This adhesive demonstrates excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including metals, ceramics, and plastics such as GFRP and CFRP. It meets several industry fire, smoke, and toxicity (FST) requirements, making it ideal for aircraft interiors.
With high mechanical strength, excellent environmental resistance, and chemical durability, this adhesive supports structural integrity across various applications. Its 90-minute work life allows ample time for positioning and adjustments. The thixotropic, non-sag formulation enables easy application without dripping or deformation. Designed for honeycomb sandwich constructions in aircraft interiors, this adhesive also simplifies FST compliance and can replace multiple adhesives, reducing inventory complexity and enhancing productivity.
Compatible with various aerospace interior substrates—including aluminum honeycomb, polycarbonate, glass/phenolic panels, polyetherimide, and polyphenylsulfone—the adhesive withstands exposure to water, salt spray, jet fuel, and mineral oils. Available in cartridges for precise application or in bulk for larger operations, it offers flexibility in processing and exceptional bonding for critical aerospace interior components.
