3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Core Splice Film AF 3024 is a low-density, thermally expanding core splice adhesive film developed for filling mismatched areas or for reinforcing and splicing honeycomb core structures. With its remarkable 250% expansion rate, this core splice film is specifically designed to effectively join significantly mismatched honeycomb structures, providing strong, reliable bonds for demanding aerospace applications.
This heat-curing adhesive film combines high-performance properties with excellent shop handling characteristics, making it suitable for both aerospace manufacturing and MRO. It offers variable curing temperatures ranging from 250°F (121°C) to 350°F (176°C), allowing flexibility in production processes. Even at slow heat-up rates as low as 0.5°F per minute, AF 3024 achieves full expansion. Its low-sag formula during curing helps minimize rework, increasing production efficiency and reducing costs.
