Product Introduction
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Stainless Steel High Temperature Pipe Sealant PS67 is an off-white, fast-curing, paste pipe sealant. Offering high-temperature resistance up to 400ºF (204ºC), this sealant provides a strong, tough seal that can be easily disassembled. It is formulated to resist pressure and vibration for long-lasting durability.
Curing quickly, it seals hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and fittings. 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Stainless Steel High Temperature Pipe Sealant PS67 is a one-component, anaerobic sealant that cures and seals hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and fittings. This general-purpose, paste pipe sealant is fast-curing, sealing almost instantly, and withstands high temperatures and pressure. It is also designed for disassembly, creating a strong, tough seal that can later be disassembled with ease. This sealant is formulated to resist pressure and vibration while locking and sealing medium to coarse straight and tapered threads.
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Stainless Steel High Temperature Pipe Sealant PS67 works effectively on inactive surfaces such as stainless steel, zinc, and plated parts. It prevents leaks and corrosion in pipes, creating an almost instant low-pressure seal, and forms a high-pressure seal when fully cured. It seals quickly to stop leaks on threads or compression fittings of most metal and certain plastic pipes without shredding, evaporation, or shrinkage. Additionally, it prevents galling and helps eliminate the waste and mess caused by leaking hydraulic fluids, oil, fuel, and lubricants.
Formulated to offer rapid sealing that withstands heat, pressure, and vibration, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Stainless Steel High Temperature Pipe Sealant PS67 is a reliable solution for fast results. It is resilient and durable, delivering the strong seal required for a wide range of demanding applications.
Anaerobic adhesives, like this sealant, are specifically formulated to cure in the absence of oxygen. When oxygen is excluded, a chemical chain reaction causes the adhesive to polymerize. Contact with metal accelerates the curing process, forming a tough, cross-linked plastic that ensures aggressive adhesion with effective shear strength.
Commonly known as threadlockers, pipe sealants, retaining compounds, and gasket makers, these adhesives enhance the seal or holding force in the threads of joined fastener systems such as nut-and-bolt assemblies. Even with minimal metal-to-metal contact, anaerobic adhesives fill the air gaps between threads, hardening into a thermoset plastic. These adhesives are easy to dispense, cure rapidly, provide effective torque strength, and resist temperature and vibration, sealing out moisture and gases to prevent corrosion. Anaerobic adhesives can reduce manufacturing costs, enhance equipment reliability, minimize aftermarket breakdowns, and lower warranty claims.
