3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP405 is a black, toughened, two-part epoxy structural adhesive designed to provide excellent strength, high impact resistance, and superior fatigue resistance. This adhesive offers a high peel and shear strength bond that remains durable under both high and low temperature conditions. It is capable of withstanding paint bake operations up to 400°F (204°C) for 60 minutes, making it suitable for demanding bonding tasks.
The adhesive cures at room temperature, offering a convenient solution for challenging applications without the need for heat. It has a fast 5-minute work life and reaches handling strength in approximately 15 minutes, with a full cure in 24 hours at 72°F (22°C). Its 2:1 mix ratio allows for easy, controlled dispensing using 3M™ Duo-Pak cartridges and dispensing equipment. 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP405 can effectively replace mechanical fasteners such as rivets, screws, and welds in many structural bonding applications.
