Product Introduction
3M™ Fiberglass Matting Adhesive is a high-performance, low-viscosity, two-component urethane adhesive designed to saturate fiberglass cloth or mat during the preparation of backup patches. This specialized adhesive also serves as an effective solution for filling cracks, channels, and areas where applying an adhesive bead is challenging. It is ideal for use with the 3M™ Performance Manual Applicator, PN 08284, and 3M™ Static Mixing Nozzle, PN 08193.
With excellent absorption properties, 3M™ Fiberglass Matting Adhesive is commonly used to saturate fiberglass cloth or mat for reinforcement in Sheet Molded Compound (SMC) and Fiber Reinforced Polyester (FRP) repairs, including fiberglass and Metton® panels. For bonding reinforcement patches to flexible plastics or Metton®, the use of 3M™ Polyolefin Adhesion Promoter, PN 05907, is recommended prior to applying the patch.
This adhesive features a mix nozzle dwell time of 9.5 minutes, a work time of approximately 10 minutes, and a sanding and cure time of about 45 minutes, all measured at an ambient and substrate temperature of 73°F (23°C).
