Product Introduction
The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 981F is an advanced abrasive sanding belt designed for grinding, weld removal, finishing, and blending, particularly on soft metal substrates. It is constructed with fast-cutting 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a tough, Y-weight polyester backing. To solve the common challenges of working with soft metals, the belt features an integrated dry lubricant to reduce loading on aluminum, bronze, and brass. A proprietary resin system improves mineral adhesion to the durable backing, reducing edge-shelling. The water-resistant material allows for use with liquid coolants to lower grinding temperatures. The 3M Precision-Shaped Grain slices cleanly through metal rather than gouging, creating a fast cut, minimizing heat build-up, and extending the belt’s life, which may also help reduce operator fatigue.
