3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP810NS is a non-sag, toughened, two-part, room-temperature curing acrylic adhesive specially formulated for bonding oily metals, plastics, and other surfaces. Featuring low odor and non-flammable properties, it contributes to a safer work environment compared to typical acrylic adhesives.
When using the Duo-Pak (DP) size adhesive, it is recommended to use 3M dispensing equipment for convenient and precise metering, mixing, and dispensing. This adhesive offers strong shear and peel strength with excellent impact resistance, making it highly durable for demanding applications. The non-sag formula ensures that the adhesive stays where applied, enabling accurate application even on vertical surfaces. Once cured, the adhesive forms a rigid bond and cures to a tan or black color.
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Low Odor Acrylic Adhesive DP810NS provides a 10-minute work life, allowing sufficient time for positioning and adjustments before setting. It reaches handling strength in approximately 20 minutes and achieves full cure within 8 to 24 hours at room temperature (72°F / 22°C). Please note that excess adhesive exposed to air around bond lines may remain tacky for up to 48 hours. This product is UL 746C approved for use in electrical equipment.
Recommended applications include sporting goods (metal-to-metal and metal-to-plastic bonding), appliance manufacturing (metal-to-metal and metal-to-glass bonding), and electronic casing assembly. This adhesive is ideal for bonding metals, composites, and various plastics including nylon, while minimizing surface preparation requirements.
Acrylic adhesives are known for their excellent bond strength, durability, and user-friendly properties. Although they may exhibit slightly lower adhesion compared to two-part epoxies in some cases, they cure faster, tolerate oily or unprepared surfaces better, and bond a wide variety of materials, including most plastics.
