What Are Epoxy Adhesives?
3M™ epoxy adhesives are part of the structural adhesives family, which also includes polyurethane and acrylic adhesives. These adhesives are formulated with reactive components (Base and Accelerator) that cure to form strong, solid plastic materials. 3M offers epoxy adhesives in multiple formats to meet diverse application needs:

• Two-Part: Base and Accelerator are stored separately for long shelf life, mixed at the point of use. Available in duo-pak cartridges for use with the 3M™ EPX™ Applicator System or in bulk, these adhesives minimize waste and offer precise dispensing.
• One-Part: Pre-mixed adhesives shipped frozen, requiring thawing before use. These are ideal for applications needing convenience without manual mixing.
• Adhesive Films: Pre-mixed adhesives turned into films for easy placement into bond lines, offering clean application with various thickness and weight options. These films must be stored frozen.

Once mixed or thawed, epoxy adhesives offer a limited working time to apply and position parts. Depending on formulation, this work time can range from a few minutes to more than 48 hours.
