Product Introduction
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100 Plus LH is a fast-setting, two-part epoxy adhesive with a 1:1 mix ratio. It is unique among fast-setting mercaptan-cured epoxies, as it combines high shear strength with good peel performance. This adhesive delivers a strong, permanent bond even under vibration and impact, making it ideal for demanding applications.
With a low halogen formulation, this epoxy adhesive is particularly well-suited for bonding electronic devices. It effectively bonds a wide range of substrates including metals, ceramics, glass, wood, and many plastics. Its low viscosity allows for easy dispensing, self-leveling, and makes it highly effective for filleting and potting applications. It features a two to four-minute work life, allowing for slight repositioning, and reaches handling strength in about 20 minutes. Full cure is achieved in 48 hours at 72°F (22°C).
When using a Duo-Pak (DP) size adhesive, users can rely on 3M dispensing equipment for accurate and convenient metering, mixing, and dispensing. The adhesive offers excellent mechanical performance and is ideal for applications in electronics, transportation, specialty vehicles, electrical products, general industrial use, sporting goods, construction, and consumer goods.

Understanding Epoxy Adhesives
Epoxy adhesives are a key category of structural adhesives, which also includes polyurethane, acrylic, and cyanoacrylate adhesives. They are formulated as liquid reactive polymers that cure to form a solid plastic material after mixing. Once the two components are combined in their specified ratio, the adhesive begins to cure, offering a limited working time for application and positioning. This work life can range from a few minutes to several hours.
Epoxy adhesives are known for their high shear and peel strengths, along with superior heat and chemical resistance. In general, they offer the highest strength and best resistance to high temperatures, solvents, and outdoor weathering compared to other adhesives.
Widely used across industries, epoxy adhesives are popular in construction, automotive and aerospace manufacturing, sports equipment production, and many consumer and industrial applications requiring high-strength, durable bonds. Their versatility allows for customized formulations—whether flexible or rigid, transparent or opaque, quick or slow setting—to bond wood, metal, glass, stone, and various plastics effectively.
