3M 2228 Scotch® Rubber Mastic Tape

3M Scotch® Rubber Mastic Tape 2228, commonly referred to as 3M 2228, is a conformable, self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape. The 3M 2228 tape features an ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) backing coated with a durable, temperature-stable mastic adhesive. With a thickness of 65 mils (1.65 mm), it ensures quick build-up during application. Designed for electrical insulation and moisture sealing, the 3M 2228 tape is UL recognized for applications up to 130°C, offering excellent resistance to moisture and UV exposure. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, even in weather-exposed environments.
