Product Introduction
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive 8010FC is a fast-curing, two-part acrylic adhesive specially formulated to bond many low surface energy (LSE) plastics, such as polypropylene, polyethylene, and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), with minimal or no surface preparation. This advanced adhesive provides strong structural bonds without requiring treatments like chemical etching, plasma, flame, corona treatment, or priming—simply cleaning surfaces with isopropanol is sufficient.
With its medium viscosity, this adhesive allows for controlled dispensing and effective surface wetting. It also bonds a variety of other materials including metals, thermoplastics, composites, ceramics, and wood, making it ideal for multi-material assemblies. The adhesive offers a 10-minute work life, reaches handling strength in approximately 60 minutes, and fully cures within 8 to 24 hours at room temperature (72°F / 22°C). Additionally, it contains 8 mil spacer beads to ensure consistent bond line thickness and delivers slightly flexible cured bonds for impact resistance.
